Terms

Terms of service

Last updated September 3, 2026. These are the plain-language rules for using Vocal. By signing in or using the site you agree to them and to the privacy policy.

Who we are

Vocal is operated by Rayxc, Inc. (“Vocal”, “we”). You can reach us at raymond@rayxc.com.

What Vocal is, and is not

Vocal organizes your medical records into a private site: a timeline, a summary of what your doctors said, plain-language research pages, and updates when new research appears. Vocal is not a health-care provider, does not practice medicine, and does not give medical advice. Nothing on your site replaces a conversation with your clinicians, and every decision about your care belongs to you and them.

Vocal is not for emergencies. If you think you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.

Your account

You sign in with a one-time email link or a Google account, so there is no password to manage. Keep your email account secure; anything done through it counts as done by you. You must be at least 18 to use Vocal.

Your records and content

Everything you upload or write stays yours. You give us permission to store, process, and display it only to run Vocal for you. Only share records you have the right to share: your own, or those of someone you are legally authorized to act for. We never sell your information or use it for advertising.

Records requests

If you sign a records authorization, that signed document controls exactly what we may request, from whom, and for how long. We act only as the representative you designate, and you can revoke the authorization at any time from your signed copy. Providers may require their own form or charge a lawful fee; we will ask you before paying one on your behalf.

AI features

Vocal sends records to an AI provider only when you have separately and optionally authorized it. AI summaries can contain mistakes, so check anything important against the original record and with your clinicians.

Fair use of the service

Do not use Vocal for anything unlawful, upload records you are not authorized to share, try to reach another person's site or data, or interfere with the service. We may suspend accounts that break these rules.

Ending your use

You can delete your site at any time from its settings. When you do, its records and content are removed from the application database, subject to backup periods described in the privacy policy. We keep signed authorizations, revocations, and access logs as legal evidence of what you consented to and when, without the medical records themselves.

Disclaimers and limits on liability

Vocal is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties about the service, its accuracy, or its availability, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred US dollars. Some laws do not allow these limits, and nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by California law. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, and you agree to that venue.

Changes

If we change these terms in a meaningful way we will update the date above and email account holders before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Vocal after that means you accept the new terms.
